The Kokanee Fun Run

The Kokanee Fun Run is an Annual Event on Saturday in early October. It has both a childrens and an adult component.

For Children: School teachers or parent groups organize school children to walk or run a distance of their choice. School children compete for 2 Environmental Education Awards for their school. All District schools in the Central Okanagan may participate. The 2 schools with the largest percentage of their student body completing the run/walk win the prizes, $900 for first and $700 for second. You may choose your participation level; distances are 3, 6, 12, or 16 km.

Adults: The adult Kokanee Fun Run coincides with the student’s run each year. This is a great way to make learning about Okanagan ecosystems and supporting community initiatives, a family affair. Walkers and runners may choose their participation level from 3, 6, 12 or 16 km. Contact the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan for details (250 469-6140).
